The institute of soft skills and vocational development of Nigeria (ISSVD) had a free webinar, which took place via zoom on Wednesday 24th August 2022; time was 10:00am. The webinar had about (167) registered participants. In attendance were between 75-86 participants.
Theme for the webinar was: Thriving in the Knowledge Economy-The soft skills imperative which was taken by the keynote speaker: Professor Charles Ogbulogo; The president/Chairman Council of the Professional Leadership Practitioners Institute of Nigeria – Covenant University.

Many people were ignorant of the full implications of the philosophy of wealth propounded by the Scottish economist Adam Smith.
The requirement of functional education projects into the Knowledge Economy.
He further mentioned that the future belonged to those who would commit to learning to keep their jobs or advance in their career and also mentioned Jobs that never existed in the last decade including:
- App development
- Social media management
- Big data analytics
- Sustainability management
- Drone manipulation
- Millennial generation managers, among others.

HOW TO DEVELOP SOFT SKILLS
Soft skills hold the key healthy interactions and continuous flow of goodwill to self and the organisation. These skills are critical because they:
- Enhance productivity;
- Bring out the best in workers;
- Minimise risks;
- Improve customer satisfaction;
- Enhances team cohesion;
- Reduce stress
- Build self-confidence; and
- Improve worker retention.
